What A Mess

What do you do when trust is broken
And you can't take back the words you've spoken
To err is human, to forgive divine
And I regret this error of mine

How did I accomplish this?
Setting all these thoughts amiss
Truth in the wrong place is false
Breaking trust creates walls

We once had something special
Deep, with nothing superficial
It's still there, but now is covered
With foolishness I left untethered

I promised you a love so pure
But part of me was not so sure
Unwittingly I became obsessed
Against you I did trespass

You and He both forgave me
He answered when I called to save me
But how do I forgive myself
And put this issue on the shelf?

Jehovah Rofehcha, the Lord my healer
Prince of Peace and Truth Revealer,
Looks like I've made another mess
I need your healing forgiveness.
