Sandtrap Oasis (a 6-minute poem)
Copyright 2003 by Jon Gill

I fell in love with a Hodgie girl
Her face was the color of sand
The most beautiful Arab in the world
And I tried to ask for her hand
So I went to Abdul Mohammed Ali
(His name was as hard as his face was)
He said I'd have to stay indefinetly
That's how I came to the Sandtrap Oasis...

(chorus)
Falling in love with a Hodgie girl
Is the worst thing I've ever done
Now I'm stuck here on the other side of the world
This wasn't my idea of fun...

So here I am with Mr. Something-Ali
Her daddy with the really hard name
I'm afraid that I'm trapped and will never leave
I'm not familiar with these games
This Arab culture, with chicks like these
It's a hope with a mirage for a basis
'Cuz I won't even get her if I say please
I'm trapped at the Sandtrap Oasis... (ch)
