Love Sonnet #1
Copyright 2005 by Jonathan Gill
Because even Shakespeare hadn't met my Brenda!

You, my love, are the world to me
More than any gift the Lord has given
True loveliness beyond what eyes can see
And strong beyond any passion driven
Years have wings as we grow older
But never claws to claim our prize
Other men may faint, grow colder
But never I while I see your eyes
To taste, smell, hear, to see or feel
These cannot our love describe
We know, in faith, our love is real
And more each day, becomes alive.
By the grace of the One called Faithful and True
I wave this banner, to the world, over you.
