You and Me
Copyright 2002 by Jon Gill
Don’t you think it’s wrong
That in every love song
We shout out loud and strong
The secrets of our love?
For a relationship to be
Filled with intimacy
Not everyone should see
What we’re thinking of.
If I say to everyone
“Look at what I’ve won”
What I’ve really done
Is lost something
If tribute’s really due
To show that I love you
That love is but as true
As the words I sing
In that little place
Where I meet You face to face
I get to know you more
Behind closed doors
I don’t want to shout it out
That’s not what it’s about
I love those little things
Just between You and me.
